Situated between Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace, Bukchon is a district shaped by centuries of cultural continuity and quiet transformation. Its streets reflect a layered urban history, where traditional architecture and contemporary programs coexist within a carefully preserved fabric.

159 Ankuk was originally acquired as an art museum before being thoughtfully renovated into a neighborhood commercial facility. The project respected the area’s historic context while introducing flexible, functional spaces that support modern creative and commercial use.

Today, the building is home to a diverse mix of F&B venues, creative studios, freelancers, and small-to-mid-sized businesses, continuing Bukchon’s tradition as a place of cultural production and community exchange.
